Tools
On the view's left is the IDE's own vertical toolbar. The choices are kept in the project.
| Tool | |
|---|---|
| Move | puts arrows on the selection: they move it along the world's axes (X red, Y green, Z blue); the square between them slides it freely |
| Rotate | puts rings on the selection: they turn it about the world's axes, at its pivot (a door turns on its hinge) |
| Stick to Surfaces | while sliding, the selection's lowest point sits on the first surface under the pointer (the floor, a dance floor's step, a table); off, it slides at its height |
| Show Bounds | the selection's bounding box |
| Show Model | the model (the box stays) |
| Show Grid | the ground's metre grid; a scene's cell grid |
| Snap | moving puts the pivot on the world's grid, turning goes step by step ("Snap to 0.5 m and 15°"); holding Ctrl or ⌘ while dragging does the opposite for that drag |
| Snap Steps | moving 0.1, 0.25, 0.5 or 1 m; turning 5°, 15°, 45° or 90° |
| Drop to Floor | sets the selected part or placement down on the first surface below it, or the ground |
| Remove Placement | removes the selected placement from the package |
When a drag ends, the part's Position (its offset from where the model has it) or Rotation (degrees) is written as one undoable command ("Move front", "Rotate Left door"); Esc cancels the drag. A placement's move or turn is written on the placement ("Move Uhren · Sofa").
