Inspector
Sakin › Tool Windows › Inspector (on the right) shows the selected part, placement or package; with no selection, the package. Nothing in it is coded by hand: every form is made from a definition.
Parts
A part's fields: Position (its offset from where the model has it), Rotation (degrees),
Scale, Visible. The values sit on the part in object.json; a field set back to its
default is removed, and they survive importing the model again. The view applies them on the
node (a turn happens at the node's pivot: a door opens on its hinge).
Placements
A placement's fields: Position (metres from the package's base centre), Rotation (degrees), Scale; above them, which package it places, with Open. Its fields and components are the object's own (Placements).
Sections of a package's own
An object.json can define sections of its own under inspector:
{version: 1, sections: [{id, label, target?, fields}]}, with fields of the types text, number,
boolean, select, vector3, color and time. target is a part's id; without it the section is the
package's. The values are kept under values.
Numbers
Numbers are in the IDE's number box (a spinner, with arrows inside). In a three-axis field the axis letter (X red, Y green, Z blue) comes first, and dragging it changes the value (Shift ×10, Alt ×0.1). The arrows and ↑/↓ change it by the field's step (Shift+↑/↓ ×10); what is typed is taken on Enter or on leaving the box. The three boxes share the window's width, and the box and the file show plain numbers (70, not 70.0).
Every change is one undoable command of the IDE.
Fields
The selected part's or package's own fields.
Components
The selected part's or package's Kalem scripts, as behaviours are in Unity: see Scripts.
The selector
Choices from a catalog (Add Component, a scene, an event, an animation) open the shared selector, not a drop-down: a search box at the top, categories on the left with how many match, the entries in the middle, and the chosen one's details on the right.
- The search ignores case and Turkish letter differences, and every word typed must match.
- ↑↓ and Page Up/Down move from the search box, Enter or a double click chooses, Esc cancels.
- An entry that cannot be chosen still shows, with why: one already there has an "Added" badge.
