Node Tree
Sakin › Tool Windows › Node Tree is a side panel of the IDE (on the left). It shows the parts
of the selected editor's package, from its document's parts, by their names; every kind goes the
same way, with no code for one model.
- The objects the package places come after the parts, under Placed objects, with the object's name and package; a placement whose object is not in the project says so.
- A scene lists its placements.
- A package without parts says why ("no model yet", "no parts listed").
- The tree follows the document shortly after an edit (by hand or by Import Model); open branches stay open, and half-written JSON does not break it. Switching between tabs of the same package keeps it.
- Typing searches (the IDE's speed search); the arrows open and close branches.
Selecting and flying
- A click selects a part or a placement: the open Design tab's view shows it with its bounds and the tool, and the camera stays where it is. The selection is shared with the view and the Inspector.
- A double click (or Enter) goes to it: the package opens on its Design tab, the view selects it, and the camera flies close enough for it to fill the view (once the page is ready, for a tab just opened). A placement inside a closed building opens the building. The package's row goes back to the whole model.
Play has a Node Tree of its own, for the objects the world runs (Play).
